With Help, There is Hope
Where to Start
It’s not uncommon for older adults to experience mental health problems. Unfortunately some serious issues are occasionally misdiagnosed as cognitive impairments, organic disorders, physical health issues, or a number of other concerns. At Wyoming Behavioral Institute, we provide a thorough assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans that we believe are critical to restoring patients to a more complete state of emotional health and physical well-being.
Wyoming Behavioral Institute Can Help
We offer a unique and specialized body of care for older adults and seniors who may be experiencing acute psychiatric disorders. With a team that includes psychiatrists, therapists and nurses, we’re able to offer multi-disciplinary psychiatric treatment to patients.
Wyoming Behavioral Institute is here to help and support your entire family.
- A supportive, understanding admission staff
- No-cost, confidential assessments
- Accessible, short-term inpatient treatment
All of our treatment programs are designed to help patients develop the skills to find healthy, responsible solutions. We recognize each patient as an individual with their own unique identity, gifts and talents. We believe this level of respect is crucial for successful treatment.
To begin the admission process, simply call for an appointment, walk in, or obtain a referral from a health care professional. Each assessment is individualized and designed to explore particular issues, including:
- Psychiatric disorders
- Sexual, physical or emotional abuse
- Anxiety, depression or schizophrenia
- Behavioral Disruption of an explosive or assaultive nature
Based on assessment conclusions, a referral will be made as to the appropriate level of care. As you enter our admissions area, you will be greeted by our staff who will consult with you about the admission process including which items are and are not allowed on the unit. Please be prepared to spend up to 60 minutes completing initial paperwork. Patients will be seen by their psychiatrist within 24 hours of admission.
Please be prepared to bring:
- Form of ID
- Insurance card
- Emergency contact information
- List of current prescriptions medications
- Medical Power of Attorney or Guardianship paperwork
